EXAMPLE OF GOOD PRACTICES: USING SOFTWARE AS CLOUD EDUCATION SERVICES
Office business, according to Marinkovic, involves decision-making, manipulation of data and documents and communication. The same authors point out that the productivity of office work in contemporary organizations is growing fastest, and cited the need to introduce ICT and encourage the creativity of employees in the office.
Marinkovic analyzed the advantages of introducing and using DropBox cloud applications in the office business of individual companies. and through an example of co-worker work during the realization of ongoing projects. The tasks of the company’s employees are related to work on different projects, which have the need for uploading and downloading or sharing of multimedia data (for example, web pages, video clips, and the like) for which they use shared storage. Marinkovic in his article cites the problem of the availability of multimedia data when computers of all employees involved in collaborative work in office business are not in use at the same time, which ultimately reflected the time course of employee work on individual projects. The previously described problem, as well as steps in solving it, in the order of guidance. The problem of the unavailability of the current project after the disconnection of one computer, the introduction of a local computer, the use of DropBox and the cooperation of employees on the Internet on the example of office business of the company. Furthermore, Marinkovic points out that the problem first tried to be solved by the introduction of a local network in the office. In this way, the problem of accessibility of digital materials has been solved regardless of the time of access, however, this solution also had its drawbacks. Namely, the employees spent part of their time on opening and removing user accounts when working on each new project, that is, the need to administer FTP servers (“for example: opening / closing of user accounts, cleaning closed projects and preparing terrain for new, archiving and backup data, etc. “) proved to be a lack of use of a local computer in this environment. Therefore, according to Marinkovic, the company management decided to improve the office business using the cloud service DropBox to synchronize files / folders on projects.
As a primary advantage of using SaaS services in office operations, for example using DropBox in office business, the company demonstrated independence for the time and space of the application and the possibility of synchronizing files among a large number of desktops and mobile devices.
In this way it facilitated the collaborative work of the employees in the work on the project tasks. Marinkovic concluded that the DropBox application in this example of good practice has proven to be an excellent choice as it supports different platforms and that there is no need for additional configuration of the same, it is flexible, regularly developed and upgraded, and as SaaS services gathers a large number of users . Lastly, Marinkovic states that when using SaaS, the administration is quick and simple in relation to the application of the local network, and that the employees could devote more to the specific business. The above results of the good practice case have confirmed some of the general advantages of using cloud services in office work.
In this paper, we wanted to point out the need for the development of computer literacy for the use of office cloud applications for future entrepreneurs who are important stakeholders in the development of the digital economy and economy. Therefore, the results of prior research on a global level were first analyzed regarding factors that influence the acceptance and use of cloud computing in small and medium-sized enterprises and entrepreneurs. It was found that “cost reduction” is one of the important factors that “encourages the use of cloud services.” Insufficient knowledge of cloud services and their advantages in doing business in small and medium-sized enterprises, along with the lack of e-skills of employees working with cloud computing, have proven to be the main barriers to the use of cloud services. Through education as an exemplary example of good practice, as a presentation of the solution to the problem of communication and the sharing of multimedia files in office operations through the introduction of the free cloud application DropBox. The above example from business practice confirms the real benefits of the cloud service in office business, and also points to the need for the development of information literacy for the application of cloud applications to future entrepreneurs, in a way to understand the purpose of individual applications in business processes so that their attitude towards cloudu In addition, as a third in, there is an example of good practices from the education of future entrepreneurs from which it can be concluded that the project approach in creating new knowledge with cloud-based tools encourages future developers to develop the e-Leaders competencies, example (according to EC model, E-Leadership, 2015): creativity, teamwork / team management, creating new knowledge, establishing a partnership, project approach in work, process optimization, strategic marketing, market analysis (innovative topics in the field of ICT usage, in business), the use of social media for communication, understanding the concepts and privacy and data security, communication and presentation skills, the creation of new knowledge, the development of information literacy and, ultimately, the digital competencies needed in the field of entrepreneurship, that is, entrepreneurial competencies. Finally, the results of Marinkovic’s survey indicate the need for developing better computer literacy among students during their previous education. As an example, the results of the survey pointed to insufficient knowledge of computer and internet work in almost 50% of respondents and ignorance of work with widely known cloud applications for document exchange and storage (Google Drive – a free resource, Microsoft OneDrive – free for all interested), which is confirmed by the fact that a large number of respondents (61.1%) first use the mentioned technologies for the first year of their studies. Students use the highest intensity internet on a daily basis for the purpose of communication and entertainment. The above results of theoretical and empirical research and the results of good practice point to the need for developing awareness and education of present and future entrepreneur about cloud computing that can boost entrepreneurial growth and economies around the world. The results can be used by practitioners and scientists and all those who aim to promote the use of cloud services.
